Why are FreeRateUpdate.com current mortgage rates lower?

FreeRateUpdate.com current mortgage rates are lower because our current mortgage rates come from research of wholesale mortgage lender’s rate sheets. If we were to survey, per say, bank’s, rather than investigating on our own, the banks would report to us rates that make them maximum profits and we’d pass the information on to you. This is why our mortgage rates are not just the lowest but most accurate. That’s a fact.

Today’s Mortgage Rates Forecast

We’ve been talking a lot about Goldman’s recent prediction for the benchmark 10 year treasury yield, the leading indicator for conforming 30 year fixed mortgage rates. Thanks to Bloomberg we’ve gotten a hold of other predictions for the yield which drives mortgage rates. Don’t get too excited as forecasts varied greatly from a low of 2.5 percent by Credit Suisse, to a whopping 4 percent from Bank of America. Somebody is smoking something strong at B of A. We’ll stick with a 10 year treasury yield between 3 and 3.5 percent and mortgage rates from 4.5 to 5.25 percent, hoping for 4.5 percent 30 year fixed mortgage rates of course.
